What is this page?

This is our digital scrapbook of our journey towards “happily ever after.” We are not trying to become social media influencers or convince anyone to “sell, buy, or process anything.” We are just trying to learn how to love ourselves and each other better and we believe a digital archive of our journey would be helpful for our process. We also know many people are interested in our journey because they care about us and/or they are thinking about trying to find their own “happily ever after” and could benefit from our experience. We welcome you to follow along with that understanding. This is meant to connect rather than divide us so please keep that intention in mind as you follow along. You are more than welcome to flow your attention elsewhere if this page does not help you grow. We wish nothing but Ten of Cups for everyone.

If you can, we’d love you to consider joining us in the Ten of Cups House or La Casita de la Hierophante (see below) in beautiful Arecibo so you can add your voice to the conversation. We want to grow together.

Why is your house called “The Ten of Cups?”

It is a normal and natural for human beings to want to predict or control the future. Various cultures have developed various techniques from prayer to exit polls to find “the peace that passes understanding.” Some people believe the Tarot deck was created by the High Priestesses of Ancient Egypt to advise the pharaohs about the fate of their reigns but most scholars agree it evolved from a popular card game in the time of the Italian Renaissance. The word tarot derives from the Italian word “tarrocchi” which means foolishness. Initially, it was only meant to be a foolish card game to amuse and entertain people in Northern Italy but it gained popularity around the time of the First Italian war of 1494-1498 but it spread throughout Italy during the Second Italian War of 1499-1504 and eventually throughout western Europe in the Italian War of 1551-1559 (or as I like to call it a positive coping strategy people used to handle the trauma that they must have experienced living through almost 70 years of constant war between 15 different sovereign powers.) It evolved into having divination powersThe spiritualist movement social justice lawyers and philosophers they simply represent the 78 human conditions
